Saturday, November 9th, The Morpheus Company's works of wearable art were shown as part of the FASHION 2000 show at The Starck Club in Dallas' historic West End. In addition to the Morpheus Company, FASHION 2000 highlighted clothing designs by Pepe Jeans, Furious Sportswear, and members of the Dallas Design Initiative. The five dollar cover charge was donated to DIFFA. (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS)
The Morpheus Company had an incredible night at the FASHION 2000. Not only was the show a success in its own right, but a a good deal of needed money was raised for charity. Close to 1500 people attended the event, with a line that literally wrapped around the club! The theme of the show was the concept of what people would be wearing in the future. Taking the concept to a room- stopping extreme, The Morpheus Company presented their interpretation: 6 "Techno-Tribal Warriors" complete with jewelry, headdresses, and masks who not only walked the runway, but marched right through the audience. Between the shock of doing something so different from the rest of the show, and the fact that one of these "fashion warriors" was armed with an eight foot whip, there was no problem convincing The Starck crowd that stepping back and watching in awe was the thing to do.
