The conversations inspired by the orchids are quite possibly the most amusing aspects of their existence. People give them furtive glances, trying to determine whether my art was more inspired by elements of organic nature or the works of Georgia O'Keeffe and Edward Weston.

When pressed for an answer, I admit a bit of each.
